Project overview
CIS Tower is one of Manchester’s most recognisable landmark assets, located in the heart of NOMA and forming a defining part of the city’s skyline. Originally completed in 1962, the Grade II listed building was Manchester’s first true skyscraper and a flagship example of post-war modernist architecture. Formerly the headquarters of the Co-operative Insurance Society, the tower holds a significant place in Manchester’s architectural, commercial and civic history. Following its acquisition, MCR Property Group will undertake a comprehensive review of the asset, exploring opportunities for a sympathetic, sustainable and design-led repositioning that protects the building’s heritage while unlocking its long-term potential.
