Statement from MCR Property Group – Hotspur Press, Manchester

We are aware of the fire that has broken out at the Hotspur Press building in Manchester this afternoon. This is a deeply concerning incident involving a historic site that remains under the ownership of MCR Property Group as part of a joint venture.

Hotspur Press has been a derelict building for a number of years. While it is no longer in active use, we recognise its prominence and historic significance within the city.

Our immediate priority is the safety of the public, emergency services, and anyone in the surrounding area. We are liaising closely with Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service to understand the situation as it unfolds and to support their efforts in every way we can.

We are committed to cooperating fully with the emergency services to determine the cause of the fire. We will provide further updates as more information becomes available.
