The former Yesterday’s nightclub, a 17,728 sq ft building deemed structurally unsafe, has been demolished to make way for the erection of 8 detached and 4 semi-detached dwellings. The Harden Park site will make for well thought-out family homes and affordable housing.

The Harden Park development is situated amongst the North Cheshire Green Belt, in the highly sought after suburb of South Manchester, Alderley Edge.

The groundbreaking planning method put forward for this development has meant that the sq ft of the former building has been scattered across the 1.67 Ha site which lies in the North Cheshire Green Belt, allowing for the dwellings to be seemingly more spread across the site than conventional developments.

Careful consideration has been taken into account to address a number of issues with; the location, planning guidance, physical site constraints and ‘special circumstances’ to fabricate a development of the highest quality. The Calderpeel FGP Architect build-design was purposefully designed with the residential market in mind, creating high-quality, sustainable use of an unsightly brownfield site in the Green Belt space.

Alderley Edge is already one of the most desirable areas of South Manchester, characterised by an affluent population, established parks and gardens, traditional housing and a strong retail and leisure offering.

The proposed plan is for single storey properties with flat roofs. The architectural design aims to reduce the mass of the dwelling, whilst giving the development a contemporary feel. The scheme has been designed so it appears as woodland from the outside, with just glimpses of the buildings visible to the improved footpath on the southern side of Harden Park.

The major housing development, worth more than £10.5 million when complete, will be accessible via a private road, encompassing spacious grounds, woodlands, an on-site lake and outhouses; accounting for approximately 26,000 sq ft in one of the most desirable areas of the North West.
