Intermediate Quantity Surveyor - Manchester

Overview

Position

As an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor you will provide commercial expertise and be responsible for the financial delivery of the assigned projects to ensure that they are procured and delivered within budget, to programme and to the highest quality whilst exceeding company expectations.

You will be reporting to the Senior Project Manger and running monthly reports, costings, contract / sub-contract packages and variations. There will be a team of Project Managers working alongside you on these projects. Primarily office based with site visits for meetings and valuations

Essential criteria:

  • A degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 – 5 years’ QS experience working on a range of projects and values
  • Developer, PQS or main contracting experience
  • Experience of both pre and post contract administration including preparing cost plans,
    estimates, bills of quantities, procurement, value engineering, tender reporting, valuations
    and final accounts
  • Wide knowledge of Construction Industry processes and procedures
  • Thorough knowledge of current forms of contract
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer literate – excel/word
  • Hold a full clean driving licence
  • RICS APC qualified or equivalent

Grounds Cleaner / Maintenance - Manchester

We have a full time position for a Grounds Cleaner / Maintenance at our busy Manchester Site.

You will be required to work 8 hours per day 08:00 am-17:00 pm Monday – Friday; with some opportunity for extra hours, as the business requires.

The primary function of this role is to maintain the external grounds to ensure they are clear of litter, empty the ashtrays in the smoking shelters. From time to time as demand requires also provide support to the building internal cleaners.

Responsibilities Include;

  • Maintain the external grounds of the site car parks and smoking shelters
  • Promoting and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene both within & around the building
  • To follow cleaning schedules and plans
  • To ensure safe use and storage of cleaning materials
  • To operate mechanical cleaning aids such as vacuum cleaner, carpet cleaner, etc within operating instructions and safety guides ensuring they are safe to use, clean and defects reported.

 

The successful candidate will possess previous cleaning or domestic experience. Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and good working knowledge of infection control procedures.

Previous experience of working with people in a commercial setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Cleaning Operative - Manchester

We have a position for a Cleaning Operative at our busy Manchester Site.

You will be required to work 12:00 -20:00 Monday – Friday; with some opportunity for extra hours, as the business requires.

Responsibilities Include;

Construction Project Manager - Manchester

Location: Manchester Office – Sites anywhere North West/Yorkshire

Hours of Duty: 08:00 – 17:30

Primary Purpose and Scope of the Job:        

  • To take responsibility for operational supervision and delivery of the project.
  • To be responsible for ensuring a customer focused service, whilst achieving key performance targets and value for money including compliance with financial regulations, standing orders and audit.
  • To take responsibility for the effective, efficient and consistent communication of information and monitoring of budgets and progress in relation to a project.

Key Tasks:

  1. Project administration and financial supervision, including the management of budgets, correct financial coding, ordering, variations and processing of payments in accordance with MCR policy, procedures and financial regulations.
  2. To be responsible for the delivery of MCR projects.
  3. To be responsible for the management and monitoring of Health and Safety for the technical officers ensuring that H&S policy and procedure are being complied with at all times.
  4. To be responsible for performance management by target setting & monitoring to ensure performance.
  5. Provide reports for a variety of stakeholder audiences and support the Asset Manager at meetings as required.
  6. To effectively demonstrate service improvements by being proactive with a strong focus on value for money and performance at all times.
  7. To assist the Asset Manager with procurement activities and the correct implementation of contracts.
  8. To have responsibility for the management, monitoring and regular review of resources required for the delivery of projects, ensuring that the appropriate co-operation and prioritisation is made where applicable.
  9. To assist the Asset Manager, be pro-active and approach work in co-operation with other Managers to identify and develop opportunities for service improvements and business development maximising the use of our investment in technology.
  10. To undertake works including but not limited disrepair cases, insurance claims and structural works.
  11. To assist with the gathering of stock condition information and the maintenance of IT systems.

Accountability & Performance Standards:

  • To project manage capital investment programmes.
  • To manage allocated budgets and their alignment with MCR Business Plan and Asset Management Plan; including cost forecasts/projections and final figures.

Commercial Lettings Manager - Manchester

Location: Manchester

Salary: Dependent on Experience plus lucrative bonus structure

We are seeking an ambitious and talented candidate to join our portfolio management team. Following the expansion of our commercial portfolio, we are looking to recruit an entrepreneurial commercial lettings and sales manager focused on delivering high quality tenants to our nationwide portfolio. Ideally, successful applicants should have experience in and will be responsible for the following:

  • Liaising with agents and office brokers to secure tenants for the company’s assets

Asset Manager - Property Investment & Development - Manchester

Location: Manchester

Salary: Negotiable dependant on experience + industry leading uncapped project based profit share

MCR Property Group is an investment and development company, which works across a wide variety of sectors, including; residential, student accommodation, offices, retail and industrial. 

The portfolio includes a residential development pipeline in the order of 9,000 residential units being constructed/redeveloped over the next 3 years It is MCR’s intention to ensure this pipeline is delivered quickly and efficiently, and become one of the largest homebuilders in the UK. 

MCR also wishes to grow its portfolio of commercial assets by acquiring dislocated or challenging properties to add value via intensive asset management and/or re-purposing. 

MCR is looking for an experienced all round property professional to assist in its overall growth and grow his or her own team and portfolio. 

Role overview:

  • Sourcing new development opportunities from existing and new contacts, research and networking 
  • Assessing project viability and suitability to MCR’s high return model 
  • Managing and working with planning, project management and sales teams, from acquisition to completion

Building Maintenance Operative - Blackburn

Location: Manchester

About the role:

This is a part time temporary role with immediate start. The role is based in Blackburn although other locations may be added if the role progresses and needs arise.
Our site is 86,000sq/ft and a former mill building and studios for Granada Television, it has since been converted to office accommodation and mixed use business centre. We are looking for someone who is flexible with their working hours and has a range of skills who can meet the needs of the building.

About You

You will be attending to calls raised by the estates and building manager; you must have a good knowledge of general property and maintenance repairs, good decorating and basic plumbing skills.
You will be working to a building maintenance schedule and sometimes to tight deadlines; you will need to have a track record in working under pressure and delivering projects on time.

We are looking for someone who has a background in commercial building, office maintenance and be familiar with the systems typically installed within them. General building fabric maintenance would also be an advantage, covering small patch repairs, and replacing suspended ceiling tiles; the job may include some minor ground works such as maintaining path ways and flagging/pointing.

You will be working as part of the management team to ensure that the building is maintained and that refurbishments can be undertaken in a scheduled time scale.
