ever evolving
Aneel started the business in 1989 at the age of 17; successfully purchasing and renovating small terraced houses in Manchester which he then either let or traded.
By the mid-1990s Aneel’s portfolio contained over 100 properties and subsequent expansions into larger developments saw the portfolio grow to circa £50m of gross assets by 1997. Having established a significant residential portfolio in the North West, Aneel focused on diversifying his residential portfolio:
- geographically, throughout the UK; and
- by sector through commercial property acquisitions.
In September 2006, Aneel’s primary development and investment vehicle, "Classic Homes", was rebranded as the “MCR Property Group”; this consolidated Aneel’s individual companies under a single banner. With aggressive purchasing and intensive asset management strategies the group now has a portfolio in excess of £1bn gross assets and targets to grow to circa £5bn by 2020.
The company employs over 200 people and owns in excess of 2,000 residential properties housing more than 5,000 residents. In addition, the company has over 100 single and multi let commercial buildings leased to over 300 tenants.
